PIM Test

Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing is essential for identifying interference in cellular networks to ensure optimal signal integrity and performance. Using CPRI analysis, PIM issues can be detected directly at the baseband level, allowing for precise diagnostics without requiring RF connections. In contrast, RF-based PIM testing requires direct connections to the transmission path to identify intermodulation sources. Following a structured test plan procedure, these methodologies help pinpoint and mitigate PIM problems caused by faulty connectors, corrosion, or passive elements within the network. By integrating both CPRI-based and RF-based approaches, networks can proactively address PIM-related degradation and enhance overall service reliability.
